Dancing Queen!

Lily was so excited to start dance last fall. She started a pre ballet, tap, and tumbling combo class at the Powerhouse. Miss Tanya doesn't like moms to stay during class so I left and would come back 40 minutes later. After the 3rd time or so Lily was acting really scared to go and when I would leave she wouldn't want me too. Other moms told me she wasn't doing the dancing part but she LOVED the tumbling. I finally got it out of her that she fell down during one of the first times she was there and she got embarrassed to do it. Well cut to the last couple of months and they are trying to get ready for the end of year review. Miss Tanya comes to me and says Lily just stands there and won't do the dance. So I talk to Lily once more and tell her she needs to think about why she isn't dancing and then tell me. She comes to me a little later and says she has figured it out! It's too hard! She doesn't know it! I then proceed to tell her that is what Miss Tanya is for. She is teaching them and you need to follow it and if you have to ask her to repeat it than that is ok! I went the next week to record it so we could practice at home and once she knew the dance she was a trooper! Her recital went so well. She came out and did such a great job! And now that we are on summer break she tells me how much she misses going to dance. This fall she will be signing back up and Macy is too! I love little dancing queens :)!
